About the art

I am a sculptor working in Christchurch. I have worked with wood, clay, steel, resin, glass, and a variety of other items. I use whatever materials I think will best achieve the result I have in mind for my artworks.

I strive for realism in my sculptures as i find it challenging, the more challenging the creation the more i enjoy making it

I am working on 2 series of sculptures. The 'Fear' series is an exploration of sculpting materials, and powerful ideas. Fear is something everyone understands. I am portraying its different aspects in a series of sculptures. This is an ongoing series. As it drives so much of everyday life today there is a lot to talk about.

The 'Homeless housepile' series puts a spotlight on a local issue. An increase in homeless people after the city was struck by a series of earthquakes. I felt making them out of housepiles was appropriate as there has been a big focus on rebuilding houses, but very little interest in helping rebuild lives.
